After Sunday’s season finale, the Game of Thrones cast kept the conversations going by giving interviews all over the web (including on Vulture), but Nikolaj Coster-Waldau (a.k.a. Jaime Lannister) gave the fans a little something extra when he told the New York Times his ideal GOT spin-off. Of course, it involves Jaime and Brienne as roommates, as they’re everyone’s favorite buds, but the proposed show gets more delightful, and strange, from there. The Hearslayers (the name helpfully suggested by the Times reporter) is a sitcom, with a laugh track, and a whole season done as a cabaret. “Varys would be the owner of the club,†Coster-Waldau explains, “because I know Conleth Hill would be amazing at that. And we’d all come in and do little things.â€
The idea leads us to wonder what hidden talents the characters might be hiding. Perhaps Podrick is a contortionist and Daenerys, despite being the mother of dragons, can sculpt ice. Maybe the Stark siblings, including the dead brothers (back as friendly White Walkers), can form a Von Trapp Family–style band. The possibilities are endless. Coster-Waldau ended the interview with this tantalizing line: “Let’s do it for the rest of our careers — just Game of Thrones spinoffs.†Yes, Jaime, tease us all you want with the impossible, because we know that what is dead may never die.
