On the day Radiohead’s new album, A Moon Shaped Pool, will reportedly finally arrive on Spotify, the band want you to find your local record shop and listen to it there instead. They’ve announced a global listening party on June 17, when the album will have an “exclusive day long audio stream from the band,†according to their website. The event will also include “competitions, instructional artworks, and more.†June 17 also happens to be the day A Moon Shaped Pool gets a CD and vinyl release, hence the throwback to traditional brick-and-mortar record stores. If you’re in New York City, head to Record Runner, HiFi Records, Turntable Lab, Norman Sound and Vision, or Rough Trade. (Sadly, no love for the departing Other Music.) If you’re anywhere in the world and have no idea what a record store looks like, head to Spotify, which is also finally streaming In Rainbows.
