Steven Spielberg is set to make a movie about the most trusted man in news. Not The Newsroom revival of your (fever) dreams, the film will focus on Walter Cronkite’s relationship to the Vietnam War. For the war-tangent project, Spielberg, who has made war-tangent movies like Schindler’s List, Saving Private Ryan, War of the Worlds, and War Horse, will re-team with Matt Charman, who penned Spielberg’s war-tangent Bridge of Spies. Marc Platt, who produced Spies, is also onboard. The project is in its early days, according to Deadline, so while Spielberg will produce through his studio Amblin Entertainment, it’s unclear if he’ll also direct. And that’s the way it is.
