June 7 is Prince Day, or what would have been Prince’s 58th birthday. To commemorate the occasion, W magazine got a bunch of celebrities to perform some classic Prince songs, since everybody knows better than to try to match Prince at the real deal. Chris Evans finger-pointed his way through “Diamonds and Pearlsâ€; Rami Malek and Julia Louis-Dreyfus did some very dramatic reads of “Kiss,†with Malek assuming the guise of a phone-sex operator; and Kit Harington and Cindy Crawford took on “Little Red Corvette.†(And no, no one covered “Purple Rain.â€) Nate Parker, Ethan Hawke, Elle Fanning, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Tye Sheridan, Melissa Benoist, and Anya Taylor-Joy also partook in the action.
