There comes a time in every wimpy kid’s life when they become a wimpy adult, and must retire their diary. Zachary Gordon has learned this truth. The actor was the titular kid in the Diary of a Wimpy Kid film series — based on the book series of the same name — but age has gotten the better of him, and Fox is rebooting the franchise with a younger fellow in the role. Variety reports that Nickelodeon star Jason Ian Drucker will be taking over in Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Long Haul, a road-trip picture. But before he knows it, time will come for him, as well. Thus the wimpy mantle will be passed to another kid, and another, and another — an endless line of kids, all of them wimpy, extending to the farthest horizon of human existence.
