Poor Scott Baio. He does his due diligence, flies out to Cleveland to give a speech at the Republican National Convention, but it’s another TV star who gets a gig working for The Donald. Today, Omarosa Manigault, the reality-show villain who had the pleasure of being fired by Donald Trump on national television a total of three times (The Apprentice, Celebrity Apprentice, Celebrity Apprentice: All Stars) has been hired as Trump’s director of African-American Outreach. “It is a very difficult time for our country,†Manigault told MSNBC as she announced her new title, “but the good thing is that I know Donald Trump as a friend, I know his heart.†When confronted with Trump’s current poll numbers among black voters in battleground swing states Ohio and Pennsylvania — zero percent in both — Manigault claimed she spent the weekend with 300 African-Americans for Trump. “My reality is I’m surrounded by people who want to see Donald Trump as the next president of the United States who are African-American,†Manigault said. Which seems legit — Omarosa, after all, is a queen of manufactured reality.
