Time to win something to go in the first line of your Wikipedia page: The first major awards show of the season, the Golden Globes, took place January 5 at 8 p.m. on Paramount+ and CBS. Winning a Globe is never a guarantee of Oscars glory, but giving a rousing speech to all of Hollywood can certainly help your chances. Heading into the night, Emilia Pérez had the wind on its back with a total of ten nominations, winning four including Best Musical or Comedy. Vulture totally predicted that The Brutalist would win in the Best Motion Picture — Drama category against Conclave, Nickel Boys, September 5, and a pair of Timothée Chalamet moviées, A Complete Unknown and Dune: Part Two. (Star Adrien Brody also won Best Actor in a Drama against his mustache twin Chalamet.)

As for television, Shōgun won four awards including Best Drama Series and Best Actress in a Drama Series for Anna Sawai. Unfortunately, Ted Danson and Viola Davis received the Carol Burnett Award and the Cecil B. DeMille Award, respectively, off-camera. But Demi Moore, Zoe Saldaña, and Wicked director Jon M. Chu got to give some of the most emphatic speeches of the night. Below, the full list of 2025 Golden Globe winners.
