We know, it’s hard to keep track of all the franchises these days, and sometimes you just think — or pray — that you’re getting a one-off movie for once. But with J.K. Rowling’s Harry Potter spinoff Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, this is not the case. Warner Bros., which has said it’s making at least three Beasts films, has confirmed the release date for a second: November 16, 2018. J.K. Rowling is writing the script, while David Yates will direct once again. The sequel “moves deeper into an increasingly dark time for the wizarding world, where Newt and our other heroes have to decide on their allegiances.†Are you ready for the grimly existential Fantastic Beasts and Why to Find Them? (Note: Not actually the name of the film.) (Second note: But don’t you think that’d be great, studio execs?)
