This definitely calls for some new Nikes in celebration. Ocean’s long-awaited Blonde — which he debuted last week a day after releasing a new visual album, Endless — has reached the top of the Billboard 200 chart. This is, surprisingly, the first time Ocean has achieved this accomplishment, as his previous album, Channel Ocean, only reached the number-two position when it was released in 2012. Blonde is now the third-largest debut of 2016 (selling 276,000 album units in its first week), which is only surpassed by Drake’s Views (852,000) and Beyoncé’s Lemonade (485,000). Additionally, as Blonde was streamed exclusively on Apple Music, 65.4 millions streams were generated during the past week. Drake’s Views and the Suicide Squad official soundtrack follow Blonde in the second and third chart positions, respectively. Ocean will now go off into obscurity, where he’ll continue on with his newfound, Ron Swanson–level passion for woodworking.
