Sit around and soak up this awesomeness. Lizzy Caplan has signed on to headline a self-described “passion project,†a dark comedy called Friend of Bill, made by an all-female creative team. Named to the Black List in 2011, the film centers around “a writer arrested for public intoxication and forced to take a sabbatical in order to kick her alcoholism.†Choosing to retreat to the small, peaceful town where she grew up, she finds “solace and sobriety nearly impossible to achieve while dealing with a complicated relationship with her mother and a pair of male suitors†— a former teacher of hers and a volunteer at the AA meetings she attends in secret. Co-produced by Caplan, the film is written by Harper Dill and will be directed by Amy Rice. If we know anything about Caplan by now, she can certainly master anything.
