Today in Young Actresses Getting That Money, The Hollywood Reporter tells us that Margot Robbie has signed on to star in yet another movie, this time as a trapeze artist in an adaptation of Queen of the Air. The script is based on the 2013 novel of the same name by Dean N. Jensen, and it tells the story of real-life circus acrobat Lillian Leitzel, who performed with the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Baily circus in the early 1900s. Material covered in the book includes her relationship with fellow high-flyer Alfredo Codona, their rise to international renown, and each of their eventual tragic deaths. It appears, too, that Hollywood is committed to recreating history in Robbie’s image, as this will be the Aussie’s latest turn recreating a preexisting or historical figure. Leitzel will join a stable that includes Naomi Lapaglia, Tanya Harding, Harley Quinn, Tarzan’s iconic love interest, Jane Clayton, and A.A. Milne’s wife, Daphne. Warner Bros. is hanging on tightly to the star as well — Queen of the Air will be her fourth film made with the studio, not counting any future DC properties that she’ll appear in as Quinn. Get ready to starting paying an international Robbie Tax by 2020, everyone!
