Just like a certain carpenter, it seems there is a life after death for the Chronicles of Narnia series, as TriStar has announced it will fund a fourth film in the fantasy franchise, an adaptation of The Silver Chair. TriStar will be the third studio to pick up a series that is perhaps best remembered for unintentionally launching the career of the Lonely Island; Disney abandoned the franchise after the first two films, 2005’s The Chronicles of Narnia and 2008’s Prince Caspian, while Fox handled the third installment, 2010’s The Voyage of the Dawn Treader. It’s unclear whether any of the original cast will return for The Silver Chair, which follows Pevensie cousin Eustace Scrubb and his boarding-school classmate Jill Pole as they venture to Narnia to find a missing prince. Eustace was played Will Poulter in Dawn Treader — perhaps after The Revenant and Cary Fukunaga’s aborted It, he’s looking to return to light family entertainment?
