Not long after Lupita Nyong’o won an Oscar for her supporting role in 12 Years a Slave, she had the (arguably) greater honor of meeting Beyoncé at the Met Ball. Beyoncé came up to her, introduced herself, and said she had been geeking out. “What kind of world is this where Beyoncé is coming to introduce herself to me?†Nyong’o thought. Everything about the moment was perfect, except the picture, which Nyong’o’s drunk friend insisted on taking. (It came out blurry.) But rest assured, this story has a happy ending: Beyoncé posted her photo of the two shortly thereafter, so you better believe Lupita got the ‘gram.
