Tituss Burgess Is Getting The Preacher’s Wife to Broadway If He Has to Play All the Roles Himself

While it is tragically not a one-man show with an unlimited wig budget, Tituss Burgess is dead set on getting The Preacher’s Wife musical on a Broadway stage. The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt actor will be holding an investors’ audition for the show on September 12 in New York. Singer Ledisi and actress Loretta Devine will perform. The musical adaptation of the 1996 Whitney Houston–Denzel Washington film features a book by Daniel Beaty and a score by Burgess himself. Stafford Arima, who made his Broadway debut last year with Allegiance, will direct. If nothing else, at least you know it’ll be 10,000 times better than Kimono You Didn’t.
