25 Elaborately Costumed Dogs From the Tompkins Square Halloween Dog Parade

Regardless of how you feel about dog Halloween costumes, the Tompkins Square Halloween Dog Parade happens every single year, rain or shine — with the former unfortunately being the case this weekend. That didn’t stop die-hards from schlepping their pets out to the East Village for the parade and competition, emceed by none other than red-carpet vet Giuliana Rancic. Spectators were out in full force, too, including one woman in a dog costume who handed out treats from a pumpkin trick-or-treat bucket to the actual dogs, making for one of the more surreal moments of the day.
