O Bob Dylan, where art thou Nobel thoughts? It’s been a week since the prolific singer-writer was awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature, but you couldn’t guess his reaction to the monumental accomplishment if you tried, primarily because he’s been playing notoriously hard to get with the Nobel committee — as of now, there has been no statement or any acknowledgment from the music maestro. “I have called and sent emails to his closest collaborator and received very friendly replies. For now, that is certainly enough,†academy secretary Sara Danius said. “If he doesn’t want to come [to the ceremony], he won’t come.†The good news? Danius can wipe the sweat off her brow for a moment, because a sort-of-kind-of acknowledgment from the Dylan camp has finally made its way to the public eye. In a new update on Dylan’s official website, the short descriptor “winner of the Nobel Prize in Literature†was added to a page promoting an upcoming book of his lyrics. Better than nothing, we guess.
