The Coen Brothers will really dial things up in their new tech-focused film, Dark Web. Fox has recruited Joel and Ethan Coen to write the screenplay for the film, which is based on Joshuah Bearman’s 2013 magazine article about Ross William Ulbricht, the man who built the underground marketplace Silk Road, which was most famously used as a place to acquire illegal drugs and weapons. Dennis Lehane wrote the first draft of the screenplay, and it isn’t clear at the moment who will direct. Also unclear: whether the Coens will be paid in untraceable sums of bitcoin.
