Sharon Horgan’s already-packed schedule is about to get busier: The Emmy-nominated Catastrophe and Divorce creator has just sold Bad Sugar, a comedy about a family fighting over the inheritance of a fracking operation, to Fox on a script commitment. The series was co-created by and co-stars the criminally undervalued (though recently ascendant) treasure Olivia Colman (of the excellent Fleabag and The Lobster, plus most Nick Frost/Simon Pegg vehicles). Interestingly, Deadline reports the show was already set up in the U.K. at Channel 4 — and went to pilot — but was cancelled due to scheduling. For that very fun reason, you can watch the below clip, which should give you some idea of how the show will turn out; however, if you know Horgan and Colman (and if you don’t: Get thee to a British TV archive!), you’ll be properly chuffed already. Bad Sugar is just the latest in a line of U.K. shows Horgan has helped make the leap to American screens, and for our part, we’ll be totally fine with the eventual, countrywide Horganland takeover.
