Everyone makes mistakes: suggesting your lover crawl in through the window rather than use the door, walking across a fire for a partner who is clearly not into it, and, most egregiously, talking trash about Angelina Jolie. While visiting Andy Cohen’s Radio Andy on Monday, Melissa Etheridge mourned her lost friendship with onetime potential baby-daddy Pitt, who the singer says detached from many of his friends after meeting Angelina Jolie over a decade ago. In case you’re wondering what’s so controversial about that, Etheridge also weighed in on the rumors of child abuse that now surround Pitt following the news of the couple’s divorce. “It breaks my heart that anyone would take something as personal as your marriage and your relationship and your rights to your children and do it as purposefully as I see it’s being done, because there’s a way to be,†she explained. After getting a call from Jolie’s PR team, the singer stopped by Cohen’s Watch What Happens Live last night to sing an original apologia entitled “The Fixer Blues.†Surely not what Angelina’s people expected, but a whole lot catchier.
