The Recording Academy recently announced 25 new musical works that will be added to the Grammy Hall of Fame, including pieces by Prince, David Bowie, Nirvana, and more, Billboard reports. “The GRAMMY Hall Of Fame represents all genres of music, acknowledging the diversity of musical expression for which The Academy has become renowned,†said the Recording Academy president and CEO Neil Portnow. “Memorable and inspiring, these recordings are proudly added to our growing catalog and are an integral part of our musical, social and cultural history.†The singles and album recordings must be at least 25 years old to meet requirements for selection. Along with the artists listed above, works include the Jackson 5’s “ABC,†Elvis Presley’s “Jailhouse Rock,†Billie Holiday’s Lady Sings the Blues, Merle Haggard’s Okie From Muskogee, and the Beach Boys’ “I Get Around.†In total, there will be 1,038 recordings in the Grammy Hall of Fame.
