Yes, yes, “We Are the Worldâ€â€“esque songs — even parodies of them — are hack-y and hackneyed. But there comes a time when we heed a certain call and a motley assortment of comedy professionals must come together as one. That time, apparently, is five days before the conclusion (well, at least one can hope it’ll be the conclusion) of the fetid cesspit that is the 2016 presidential election. Television’s premiere songstress, Crazy Ex-Girlfriend’s Rachel Bloom, has teamed up with Funny or Die and an astounding array of funny people to present “HOLY SH*T (You’ve Got to Vote),†an anthem that reaches out to even the most weary and cynical of American voters. It’s remarkably catchy and functions as something of a Guess Who? game of unexpected cameos, which we won’t spoiler here. Just … seriously, vote. I can’t figure out how to end on a joke; this election has beaten me into a humorless pulp. Thank goodness that’s not true for Bloom.
