Seth Meyers Takes A(nother) Closer Look at the Trump Transition Team: Chaos, Infighting, Australian Golfers

Continuing a recent and hearty streak of never letting up when it comes to the Trump transition, Seth Meyers capped off the week by delving a little deeper into the general feeling of unease around those parts. Earlier in the week, he took shots at actual team members, including noted anti-Semite Steve Bannon and the probable inclusion of some of Trump’s own kids. Thursday’s segment looked instead at the general revolving door currently in operation with the Trump team, one that seems to favor cronyism and grudge-holding over, shall we say, actual ability to do the work of running a country. Pivoting off one media comment that compared the current state of Trumpdom to the plot of Game of Thrones, Seth agreed that “we are now way past the part that the original author had in mind.†In this case, the author being the founding fathers and the text in question being the Constitution. You get it. Slow burn.

Meyers goes on to talk about how hard it is for foreign leaders to reach Trump (and the necessity of getting phone numbers from pro golfers to that aim), why U.K. Prime Minister Theresa May should be careful (hint: it starts with “ass†and ends with “ault), and how Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner likely pushed Christie and his cohort out for very, very personal reasons. Watch and see why Late Night continues to be the best moment-to-moment Trump-transition topical-comedy machine around.
