Here’s a clip from last night’s Daily Show, where correspondent Roy Wood Jr. investigates the new war being waged in the US around gun control – more specifically, gun emoji control. After interviewing a New Yorkers Against Gun Violence activist who got Apple to replace the gun emoji with a water gun emoji and a gun lover who finds it unacceptable she now has to pay 99 cents to text a tiny picture of a gun to her friends, Wood discovers that when it comes to this issue, Americans are now more than divided than ever. Thankfully, Wood is friends with Michael Kenneth Williams, so if he ever needs a real gun emoji from the black market, he’s covered.
