Heavy times call for heavy metal. Pitchfork reports that rapper Ice-T has released a new song with his metal band Body Count called “No Lives Matter.†In a stark, black-and-white video for the track just released to Vevo, Ice-T is first seen solo and heard in a voice-over discussing the essential issue the track takes on. “When you say ‘Black Lives Matter’ and then you say ‘All Lives Matter,’ that’s like if I were to say ‘Gay Lives Matter’ and you say ‘All Lives Matter,’†Ice-T says. “Or I say ‘Women’s Lives Matter’ and you say ‘All Lives Matter.’ You’re diluting what I’m saying. You’re diluting the issue. The issue isn’t about everybody.†After the voice-over, Body Count does what it does best (metal, heavily). Check out the track above in preparation for the band’s sixth studio album, Bloodlust, expected to drop March 31.
