The end is apparently near for Alec Baldwin’s Trump impression on Saturday Night Live. In an interview with Extra, Baldwin revealed that he doesn’t plan on impersonating Trump for much longer. “Trump just overwhelmingly lacks any kind of sportsmanship. He remains bitter and angry, and you want to look at him and go, ‘You won!’†Baldwin said. “I think the maliciousness of this White House has people very worried, which is why I might not do it much longer, by the way – that whole impersonation. I don’t know how much more people can take it.â€
Baldwin also addressed the possibility of playing Trump at this year’s White House Correspondents’ Dinner, which, according to him, is highly unlikely. “I honestly don’t think that they want that. I think that for their prestige and their integrity, I think a lot of people are thinking that if Trump himself doesn’t come and face the music as it were, I don’t know what kind of program they’re going to have,†he said. “If they wanted me to do it, I would probably do it, but I’m not quite sure they do. I think they may have a whole other idea involved.â€
