George Saunders’s new novel is headed to the big screen with some help from Megan Mullally and Nick Offerman. According to Deadline, Mullally and Offerman have acquired movie rights to the new Civil War-set bestselling novel from Saunders Lincoln in the Bardo, which was released last month along with a 166-person voice cast audiobook. Saunders will produce the movie alongside Mullally and Offerman, but the project doesn’t yet have a cast or director. “I am thrilled to be in artistic cahoots with Megan and Nick, two artists I’ve long admired,†Saunders said on the news. “I can’t imagine two more brilliant, wide-open, joyful collaborators. This is going to be big fun. My hope is that we can find a way to make the experience of getting this movie made as wild and enjoyable and unpredictable as the experience of writing it — I am so happy to have such fearless companions on the trip.â€
