Alas, a project that seemed to be too good to be true is: According to Pitchfork, Rihanna won’t star in Annette, as was first reported. The musical drama was set to showcase the singer and Adam Driver in a tale about “a widowed stand-up comedian†who, after the death of his opera-singer wife, discovers his toddler daughter “has a surprising gift.†Unless that surprising gift is an uncanny ability to channel Rihanna, consider our enthusiasm dampened.
