Despite concerns that Harrison Ford would lose his pilot’s license following a questionable landing made back in February, the Federal Aviation Administration decided Monday that the Blade Runner 2049 actor would both retain his ability to fly and avoid paying any fines. On February 13, Ford accidentally flew his private plane over an American Airlines jet on the ground at John Wayne Airport in Orange County, California, before mistakenly landing the single-engine Husky on an active taxiway, rather than his assigned runway. “Was that airliner meant to be underneath me?†the actor could be heard asking air traffic control at the time. In the official audio recording of the incident, the actor also apologizes for being a “schmuck†and, according to Entertainment Weekly, at one point reportedly refers to his plane as a helicopter. The actor’s lawyer Stephen Hofer told Entertainment Tonight, “He has been advised and is very happy about it,†so keep your eyes peeled for some celebratory loop-the-loops and barrel rolls over a regional airport near you.
