Mindy Kaling has a new show in the works at NBC. According to Variety, the network has given a series order to a single-cam comedy from Kaling and Charlie Grandy called Champions. The show, which was ordered to pilot back in January, follows Anders Holm as Vince, “a charismatic gym owner with no ambition, lives with his younger brother Michael (Andy Favreau), a gorgeous idiot. Their simple life of women and working out is put on hold when the teenage son of Vince is dropped off on their doorstep by Priya (Kaling), one of his old high school flings.†J.J. Totah, Mouzam Makkar, and Nina Wadia round out cast. NBC also ordered another new comedy called A.P. Bio from Mike O’Brien last week, which stars Glenn Howerton and Patton Oswalt.
