Here’s a clip from last night’s Late Show, where Stephen Colbert chats with Dave Chappelle about his Radio City Music Hall residency this month, his 30th anniversary in comedy, and his comments about Trump during his SNL monologue last year. “Listen, man. In the last six months, I think we’re all getting an education about the presidency. I don’t know that I’ve ever heard, just pop into the discourse, people discussing ethics this much, and I didn’t even realize how ethics were necessarily supposed to work at that level of government, and he’s putting all this stuff on the forefront,†Chappelle argues. “Well,†Colbert responds, “nobody really talks about oxygen until someone’s got their hands around your throat.â€
Watch another clip from the interview below, where Chappelle tells Colbert about appearing at his local town hall in Yellow Springs, Ohio earlier this year (“I’m like the local Krusty the Clownâ€) and offers some high praise for the Late Show host: “I gotta tell you…I’ve been watching you, man, for years, and I really do think you’re one of the most important voices comedy has.â€
