After being suspended from the show for the second half of last season, it appears that writer Katie Rich has returned to Saturday Night Live. The Chicago Sun-Times noticed during the credits of last night’s Weekend Update special that Rich was listed in the credits as one of the episode’s 12 writers – the first time she’s been credited since the show suspended her in January after she tweeted a joke about Barron Trump that resulted in an online campaign to have her fired and even a statement from Donald Trump himself calling the joke a “disgrace.†SNL’s decision to suspend Rich caused a controversy of its own, and a handful of writers and comedians came to her defense including Dan Harmon, who even offered her a job. NBC is not commenting on Rich’s reinstatement.
