Louis C.K. has secretly been working on a movie that’s set to make its world premiere next month. According to the Los Angeles Times, C.K.’s film I Love You, Daddy has been added to the lineup of next month’s Toronto International Film Festival. Not a whole lot is known about the film except that it was shot in 35mm black-and-white, it was filmed in New York last year, and it centers on C.K. as a “successful television producer and writer†named Glen Topher and his daughter China, played by Chloe Grace Moretz. The cast also includes Rose Byrne, Helen Hunt, Charlie Day, John Malkovich, Edie Falco, and Pamela Adlon. I Love You, Daddy marks C.K.’s first time directing a film since 2001’s Pootie Tang.
