Paul Reiser’s ‘There’s…Johnny!’ Premieres on Hulu Next Month

Last month, Paul Reiser and David Steven Simon’s Seeso show There’s…Johnny! found a new home at Hulu, and today the network announced the series premiere date. Originally ordered to series by Seeso last year, the show stars Ian Nelson, Jane Levy, Roger Bart, T’keyah Keymah, and Tony Danza and is set backstage at Johnny Carson’s Tonight Show in 1972. Seeso had set a late August 2017 premiere date for the series, but NBC announced that it was shutting the streaming site down before There’s…Johnny! had a chance to debut. Here’s what Reiser told IndieWire in a recent interview about the show, which combines real Carson clips with the fictionalized world of the show:

Reiser believes both Carson fans and younger audiences who aren’t familiar with the legendary host will find different reasons to watch. “For those who loved Johnny Carson, you’re already intrigued, because it’s a world that we all wanted to be in,†he said. “We kind of miss Johnny. This is a new way to watch those episodes. And for a younger audience who doesn’t remember Johnny Carson, the show is about these fictitious characters that we’ve created and cast with terrific actors.â€

There’s…Johnny! now premieres on Hulu Thursday, November 16th.
