Dan Reed’s new documentary Leaving Neverland made big waves when it premiered at the Sundance Film Festival this year. The four-hour film goes deep into alleged sexual abuses carried out by Michael Jackson against young boys, focusing specifically on the accounts of Wade Robson and James Safechuck, who spent considerable time with the pop megastar throughout their childhoods. Reed spoke with Vulture after the movie’s debut, talking about how he approached the extensive interview process with his sources and their families, and why he believes their accounts are true. Leaving Neverland will air over two nights on HBO starting March 3, and you can watch the first trailer here.
