Give Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper Another Oscar Nomination for This ‘Shallow’ Performance

We truly cannot wait to see the inevitable biopic based on Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper’s “Shallow†performance at Sunday’s 91st Academy Awards, as well as the prequel based on the walk they took to the stage. Bathed in a golden light with perfect dry pants (honestly, we’re just assuming), their duet is like an alternative Ally and Jackson timeline. Or their Oscars performance in heaven?

Shortly after their duet, “Shallow†went on to take home this year’s Best Original Song award, winning out over Black Panther’s “All The Stars†by Kendrick Lamar, SZA, Mark Spears and Anthony Tiffith; Diane Warren’s “I’ll Fight†from the documentary RBG performed Sunday by Jennifer Hudson; “The Place Where Lost Things Go,†written by Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman for Mary Poppins Returns and sung at the Oscars by Bette Midler, and “When A Cowboy Trades His Spurs for Wings†from The Ballad of Buster Scruggs by David Rawlings and Gillian Welch, who also took the stage to sing at the 91st Academy Awards.

“Bradley, there’s not a single person on the planet that could have sang this song with me but you,†Lady Gaga told Cooper while accepting the award, alongside producer Mark Ronson. “Thank you for believing in us.â€

“If you have a dream, fight for it,†she continued. “There’s a discipline for passion, and it’s not about how many times you get rejected or you fall down or you’re beaten up. It’s about how many times you stand up and are brave and you keep on going. Thank you!†But you already knew “Shallow†was going to win, since you just saw that performance, right?
