You’d better get right with your God, dear reader, because this is on all of us, or at least, all of us who took part in 2016’s seemingly never-ending Harambe meme. In news more cursed than a literal accursed doll, tech billionaire Elon Musk inexplicably released “RIP Harambe,†a rap song dedicated to and about Harambe, the late, great ape turned internet punch line, on Saturday. Nearly three years after the western lowland gorilla was tragically shot and killed after a child climbed into his enclosure at the Cincinnati Zoo, Musk celebrated his memory with lyrics like: “RIP Harambe / Sippin’ on some Bombay.†It should go without saying the song is extremely autotuned, officially making it the second worst thing to ever happen to poor Harambe.
