None of the romance in To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before would’ve happened without the affectionate meddling of Lara Jean Covey’s little sister, Kitty. Lucky for us, when Netflix makes the forthcoming sequel to the romantic comedy, Anna Cathcart will reprise her role as the brilliant, bossy fashion icon Katherine Song Covey. (Or, as she tells Peter Kavinsky upon their first proper meeting: “Kitty to my friends. You can call me Katherine.â€) Also returning for the sequel, according to The Hollywood Reporter, is Janel Parrish as the oldest Covey sister, Margot, and John Corbett as the girls’ white-wine-drinking single dad.
The sequel will be directed by the first movie’s cinematographer, Michael Fimognari. Original director Susan Johnson will instead serve as an executive producer. “Directing To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before has been one of the great experiences of my life, and I am grateful to the fans for their passionate support of the film,†Johnson said in a statement. “Due to the timing of my other projects I won’t be directing the sequel, but as an executive producer, I am looking forward to continuing to share Lara Jean’s story and being part of this franchise.†Let’s swoon again like we did last summer.
