What kind of DirecTV user are you? One who will benevolently sit on the details of tonight’s Game of Thrones season-eight premiere, or one who will use your priceless knowledge to terrorize your fellow fans into submission this evening? According to reports, DirecTV Now inadvertently released tonight’s Game of Thrones episode onto its streaming service around 5 p.m. EST, hours before the show’s scheduled 9 p.m. EST return, even sending out push notifications to subscribers.

AT&T, which owns both DirecTV and HBO, told The Hollywood Reporter, “Apparently our system was as excited as we are for Game of Thrones tonight and gave a few DirecTV Now customers early access to the episode by mistake. When we became aware of the error, we immediately fixed it and we look forward to tuning in this evening.†As for the poor DirecTV programming employee who mixed up the show’s premiere time, you can presumably go ahead and ready yourself for a Walk of Atonement.
