The BBC is known for two things: history docs and comedies that used to be radio shows. Finally, the two have united. Steve Coogan will soon be hosting a show on British history as his chat host personality, Alan Partridge. Alas, it will not be called Knowing Me, Knowing U.K. Tentatively titled And Did Those Feet, With Alan Partridge, the show begins filming in May. Longtime Coogan collaborators Rob and Neil Gibbons will direct and co-write the series with Coogan. The series seeks to specifically spoof the BBC docuseries output of Simon Schama. “‘What’s fascinating about history,†said Coogan-as-Partridge in another of his shows, In This Time With Alan Partridge, “is that unlike bread in a bakery or love in a marriage it is never going to run out.â€
