At today’s Investor Day presentation, Kevin Feige announced another Marvel series coming to Disney’s forthcoming streaming platform, Disney+, and confirmed details about a few more previously reported shows. The newest official addition to the Marvel small-screen lineup will be The Falcon and The Winter Soldier, which will feature Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan reprising their roles as the titular characters. Feige also confirmed the previously reported series starring Elizabeth Olsen’s Wanda Maximoff, a.k.a. the Scarlet Witch, and revealed a few new details. It will be called WandaVision, and it will focus on both the Witch and her paramour, Paul Bettany’s vision. The Marvel Studios chief did not mention the solo Hawkeye series starring Jeremy Renner that was reported yesterday, though he did confirm Tom Hiddleston will be returning to play Loki for his own show.
And most importantly for continuity fans, Feige did say that developments in Marvel shows will impact narrative developments in upcoming superhero theatrical releases. “A post-Endgame MCU will be extremely different and extremely focused on Disney+ tying into our future,†Feige told the crowd. In other words, you have to subscribe to Disney+ if you really want to know what’s going on in the MCU.
