After all the effort to reunite the cast of Murphy Brown, CBS has decided not to pick the revival of the political comedy up for a second season. The network announced on Friday that it has canceled Murphy Brown, as well as other comedies Fam, Life in Pieces, and Happy Together. Life in Pieces, starring Colin Hanks, Thomas Sadoski, and Zoe Lister-Jones, made it through four seasons on CBS, while Fam, starring Nina Dobrev and Gary Cole, and Happy Together, starring Damon Wayans Jr. and executive produced by Harry Styles, premiered this season. CBS previously picked up dramas S.W.A.T., SEAL Team, Madam Secretary, MacGyver, Criminal Minds, Blue Bloods, NCIS, NCIS: Los Angeles, NCIS: New Orleans, Magnum P.I., FBI, and God Friended Me, as well as Bull, without the participation of Spielberg and Amblin. On the comedy side, it’s also picked up Young Sheldon, Mom, The Neighborhood, and, in a fittingly CBS move, Man With a Plan.
