If you’ve been having a rough week, Late Night with Seth Meyers is here just in time with their much-too-rarely used segment “The Kind of Story We Need Right Now,†in which Meyers unpacks a story that’s about anything other than what the news usually is. This time, it’s a man who fought a traffic ticket by hiring a lawyer and definitively proving that an officer had confused a hash brown for a cell phone. It’s a rare case of a story that made it into the Washington Post and also serves as an excuse to eat a hash brown. Oh, and watching Meyers deal with how long it takes to recover from even one bite of a hash brown is an added bonus.
