Adam Sandler’s Old SNL Office Now Belongs to the ‘Weekend Update’ Guys

Ahead of making his Saturday Night Live hosting debut this weekend, Adam Sandler dropped by Late Night With Seth Meyers last night, and as usually happens when an SNL alum is on the show, the conversation mostly became a walk down SNL memory lane. Sandler explains how his hosting gig came together (it was all thanks to his Netflix special 100% Fresh) and how some of his fellow former SNL writers are also returning to help him out (Robert Smigel, Tim Herlihy, and Steven Koren), and he admits to Meyers that he’s “so knocked out right now†from all the hard work that’s gone into putting the episode together so far. “First of all, I should have come back to the show before there was HD, because now I’m like, Good Lord, I waited a long, long time — I don’t really look like Adam Sandler anymore,†he admits.

Sandler also tells Meyers what it was like to check out his old SNL office that he used to share with Chris Farley, David Spade, and Chris Rock back in the day, which now belongs to “Weekend Update†anchors Michael Che and Colin Jost. “I did look at Farley’s old desk and I thought of all the crazy … just him being funny there and just the fun times we had,†Sandler says. “And I know the ‘Weekend Update’ guys who are sitting in there are a lot smarter than we are — a lot of different conversations are going on.â€
