Weddings can be so stressful. You have to please your extended family and your in-laws by making concessions for those six random aunts you haven’t seen in 12 years, and in the case of the upcoming movie Ready or Not, that concession is pretty substantial. Grace (Samara Weaving) has just married the guy of her dreams, but before she can really be a part of his extremely rich family she has to take part in a post-ceremony tradition. If she survives an all-night game of hide-and-seek she’ll be welcomed into the clan, but if not, she’s going to die! Grace’s new in-laws are about to hunt her through their mansion using crossbows and shotguns and blades of various sorts, and among them are Wynonna Earp’s Melanie Scrofano and Leighton Meester’s husband, Adam Brody (getting back into his murderer mode, as seen previously in Mr. & Mrs. Smith and Jennifer’s Body). Too bad for these rich maniacs that they are coming up against Samara Weaving, and if there’s one thing her filmography teaches us so far, it’s that she’s not to be trifled with. Ready or Not, the movie hits theaters on August 23.
