It’s the 35th anniversary of Ghostbusters, and fans are celebrating by gorging on both bootleg Ecto Cooler and news of the upcoming Ghostbusters 3. Sigourney Weaver confirmed in a Parade Magazine feature that she will indeed be returning to the franchise with Bill Murray and Dan Aykroyd. “It’s going to be crazy working with the guys again!†she said. Weaver played Dana Barrett in the original film, a cellist who is possessed by ghost/demon Zuul. In Ghostbusters II she’s a single mom who’s baby is chosen as the vessel for some guy that Peter MacNicol is awfully fond of. Weaver has been having a ball recently leaning in to the sci-fi franchises that made her a household name. Earlier this year, she gave props to the high school production of Alien, and even visited the New Jersey production. Truly what’s the point of creating some of the most iconic moments in blockbusters if you don’t have fun with your legacy?
