Warner Bros.’ Flash movie has had a lot of turnover in the director’s chair. First Rick Famuyiwa had the job. Then he stepped away from the project and Game Night directors John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein took over and wrote a whole script for their version. After they left the movie, it was reported earlier this year that Ezra Miller was working on his own script for Flashpoint with comics writer Grant Morrison. The studio turned down Miller’s script in May, but the studio still wants him to stick around for his character’s standalone film. And now, we have a new contender entering the arena. According to The Hollywood Reporter, It director Andy Muschietti is in talks to take over the Flash movie, with Bumblebee and Birds of Prey screenwriter Christina Hodson handling a new script. But according THR’s report, “Dealmaking has not yet begun, stress insiders. Official offers are expected to go out shortly.â€
Muschietti made a lot of money for Warner Bros. with It: Chapter One, and if contracts can get locked down, the studio is hoping to start prepping the Flash movie for production by January.
