The clown show is coming to an end at FX. The network announced today that the fourth season of Baskets, which is currently airing, will be the show’s last, according to The Hollywood Reporter. When this slate of episodes was picked up by FX last spring, a network exec said, “Each season brings us closer to the Baskets family and their pursuit of life, love and clowning glory.†So, it looks like you’re as close as you’re ever going to get! Baskets starred Zach Galifianakis as twin brothers Chip, who aspires to be a clown, and Dale Baskets, with Louis Anderson in the role of their mother. Galifianakis co-created the show with Jonathan Krisel and Louis C.K., but the show severed its relationship with the latter after he was accused of and then admitted to sexual misconduct. Perhaps now Galifianakis will finally have time to pursue those “homesteader interests†he told Vulture about last year.
