Even a few years ago, would you ever have guessed that Billy Eichner and Seth Rogen would appear on a Beyoncé song? Well, the magic (?) of the Lion King remake has finally brought them all together. In advance of the film’s release, Disney has released its soundtrack, featuring pretty much all the songs you remembered from the original movie, plus the new Beyoncé song “Spirit,” as well as the Elton John song “Never Too Late,” which plays over the credits, and Lebo M.’s “He Lives in You” (originally written for the stage musical and featured in The Lion King 2) and “Mbube.” Pharrell Williams produced many of the songs, including “Can You Feel the Love Tonight?,” “I Just Can’t Wait to Be King,” “Hakuna Matata, “The Lion Sleeps Tonight,” and “Mbube.” The soundtrack also includes selections from Hans Zimmer’s score, and had a hidden little assist from Chance the Rapper. Listen to it all below, close your eyes and imagine photo-realistic lions saying all the words, and you’ve saved yourself a trip to the theater!
