If there’s one parlor game Vulture doesn’t think Lady Mary would humor herself with in Downton Abbey — that saucy Dowager Countess minx, though, absolutely — is the time-honored tradition of “Shag, Marry, Kill.†(It would trigger those Kemal Pamuk memories, probably.) So at the NYC premiere of the Downton film on Monday evening at Alice Tully Hall, we couldn’t help but ask Michelle Dockery for a quick game, specifically with three gents who orbit our lady quite closely: Retired butler (and Britain’s honorary stern uncle) Carson, cutie brother-in-law Branson, and reformed butler Barrow. “I would say marry Carson,†Dockery said after a moment of contemplation, “kill Barrow, and shag Branson.†Same, honestly.
