The Netflix series about famed scammer Anna Delvey now has a name, Inventing Anna, as well as additional cast members. Julia Garner recently joined the show as its title star, and now Anna Chlumsky, Laverne Cox, Katie Lowes, and Alexis Floyd are part of the Shonda Rhimes production too. According to Variety, Chlumsky will play a journalist “with a lot to prove,†who is pursuing the alleged German heiress in hopes of shedding light on her mysterious persona. (And since the story is based on Jessica Pressler’s New York Magazine article “How Anna Delvey Tricked New York’s Party People,†this presumably makes Chlumsky the second actress to play Pressler in less than a year, after Julia Stiles in Hustlers.) Cox will play Kacy Duke, a trainer and lifestyle coach who gets close to Delvey. Lowes will be “natural-born follower†Rachel, who becomes fully ensorcelled by the con artist, and Floyd will play Neff, a hotel concierge who is keen on Delvey but not easily taken advantage of. We, however, are easy marks and will definitely be tuning in to the show.
